What if something leapfrogs crypto?
Technological superiority is ephemeral and this is the first time in history where the value of an asset is based solely on its technology.
What if crypto is the CDs of modern currency? I.e., it's 1990 and you think CDs are way better than cassette tapes and what could possibly be better than CDs? In other words, what if there's a new technology right around the corner that will totally obliterate the crypto market?
It’s hard to say if quantum computing is right around the corner or of it’s still the pipe dream of knot theory geeks but it’s what comes to mind in terms of a possible disruptor to blockchain. If quantum computing suddenly becomes scalable and accessible, all things crypto become hackable and presumably everyone’s coins would become worthless.
If you’re currently holding crypto, are you worried about quantum computing or other potential disruptors? Why or why not?
